The Medicine of Experience

How practitioners who have been around a while bring the medicine that these times require
The image shows a close-up of a person receiving a foot massage, with the masseur applying oil and pressure to the foot. The main themes are relaxation, therapeutic touch, and wellness practices aimed at foot care and stress relief.

The world really needs experienced wellness practitioners right now.
Practitioners who can hold spaces big enough for the grief, anger, fear and commitment to a better world without collapsing.
Teachers who can guide the alchemy and integration of all the hard things.

But solo-practitioners often experience this one thing.

If you are in the wellness space, you will know that doing this work asks a lot of you - especially now.

It is common for much of the energy that it took you to train and launch your work into the world to begin to dwindle over time.

What happens

I have heard practitioners say “I didnt realise how much time it would take outside of sessions to run my practice” For some, around 50% of their time is spent on marketing and general business activities, and crucially on all the personal preparation and development needed to hold the space well.

This is not to moan about it, or to say this ratio is wrong, but to acknowledge the reality. And to highlight why so many practitioners stall or quit at the crucial moment their expertise is maturing.

And why

The energy dwindles because so many practitioners are doing this work alone, or taking the challenges they face and privately processing them.  The helper in us ends up holding it all. We can end up drawing on valuable life force to keep going and eventually hit a wall.

Another way

Yet we know that where there is community, this experience is much improved. If we have a place where practitioners can share ideas and ask for suggestions from others who understand, the reciprocal energy feeds everyone.

And where there is really well held space for us all to face the harder parts of this work - not just as part of a nice network or a place to celebrate the wins - but us a real and committed crew willing to continue growing through supervision and specific somatic support, this energy is multiplied.

We feel the strength of support at our back.
We build on our knowledge
We expand our range
We weave deep and respected threads with others who care in the way that we do, about building a better world.

Why it matters

It means practitioners can continue thriving in their business.
Which means more people can be held in their experienced hands.
Which allows the medicine to spread farther.
And we can begin to turn the tide of division.
The fear, anger and grief can be alchemised and the hard work of holding and creating hopeful visions for the future can continue.

This is why The Treehouse | Grow Your Wellness Practice with Supervison, Support and Community was created.

MY TEACHERS / GUIDES

I am fiercely supported and inspired by a network of teachers, mentors, peers and friends. I wholeheartedly understand that part of my work is to share what I learn from them. Here are the ones who currently inspire, support and teach me, speak in ways that makes me stop and listen and generally shine a light in dark corners.
